The toy German spitz, also known as the spitz klein, is a little fellow, carrying an average of 20 pounds on his 9- to 11-inch frame. The standard or medium German spitz stands between 11.5 and 14 inches and weighs between 23 and 41 pounds. The giant German spitz hovers around 40 pounds, but he stands taller than the rest, between 16 and 17 inches high. Eager to please, happy dogs, they are smart and respond well to training.
