Cross two of the smallest dog breeds together and you get a small dog. Mating a Yorkshire terrier and a Chihuahua results in "Chorkie" puppies, a designer dog breed that's not recognized by the American Kennel Club. Even when your little puppy grows up, you can carry him around easily, either in your arms or tucked inside a doggie purse.

Yorkies and Chihuahua Size

Although the Yorkshire terrier and Chihuahua differ markedly in appearance, AKC weight standards for the two breeds are similar. Mature Yorkies weigh between 4 and 7 pounds, while Chihuahuas can't weigh more than 6 pounds. That means your Chorkie should weigh between 4 and 7 pounds when he's fully grown.
