Miniature pinschers are a small breed of terrier originating centuries ago in Germany to combat barnyard rats. Their stature is small, compact and highly muscular. This, along with an alert, spirited and fearless personality, gives miniature pinschers the title, "King of Toys."
Size and Stature of the "Min Pin"
Miniature pinschers are indeed small and mighty. In fact, at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in February 2014, a min pin by the name of "Classie," earned Best of Group. Classie is the all-time winning toy dog. According to both the American Kennel Club and United Kennel Club standard, "min pins" should be between 10 and 12.5 inches in height at the shoulders with a weight in proportion to individual build. Though there is no standard weight, a muscular yet compact body structure, lacking excessive fat, is ideal.
